About the Role We are seeking a Sales & Engineering professional to support the sale and technical understanding of Materials Research Furnaces' products. The role involves providing technical quotations, leveraging engineering expertise to help customers reach project goals, and coordinating field service, lab/toll work, and on-site support for furnace systems and partial systems. What You'll Do
- Provide technical quotes and product information to customers
- Collaborate with engineering to design and build furnace systems or partial systems (upgrading controls, automating process equipment, supplying heaters and shields, providing hydrogen kits, vacuum systems, vacuum chambers, etc.)
- Support customers via on-site field service for setup, maintenance, training, operation, and troubleshooting
- Assist with maintenance contracts, emergency field service, upgrades or modifications, and travel to customer locations as needed
- Manage field service rates and scheduling; coordinate lab/toll work for process development or short-term production
- Support online quote requests and customer communications; help with NDA or documentation when needed
- Provide access to lab furnaces and rental options as alternatives to full systems; Lab Furnace 1 up to 2500C in inert/vacuum, 2300C in hydrogen; Arc melt furnace up to 3500C; describe features and data handling
- Ensure data is run, tracked, and available to customers; collect run data and provide results via email/USB as appropriate What We're Looking For
- Customer-focused sales and engineering mindset with ability to translate technical details into quotes and proposals
- Knowledge of furnace systems, controls, vacuum systems, diffusion pumping, inert/hydrogen forming gas environments, and safety interlocks
- Willingness to coordinate on-site field service, training, and support; ability to travel to customer locations as needed
- Familiarity with lab and toll processing concepts and small-batch production environments Nice to Have
- Experience with process development for laboratories or R&D environments
- Understanding of contamination control and cross-contamination concerns when running multiple customers’ work; possible need for dedicated heater/shields Compensation & Benefits
