About the Role Silvus Technologies, now part of Motorola Solutions, seeks a Sales Engineer – Public Safety to collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development to deliver tailored solutions using Silvus’ multi-antenna MIMO radios and mesh networking tech. The role supports technical sales, demonstrations, and customer training, and influences product development. Reports to the Director of Sales Engineering.
This opportunity suits an entrepreneurial technologist who enjoys customer interaction, travel, and ambitious technical challenges. The position is eligible for 100% remote work depending on location, with candidates based in the Washington Metropolitan area eligible for remote work. What You'll Do
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support including system planning, customer training, and system optimization.
- Become an expert on Silvus radio and networking solutions and their competitive advantages.
- Prepare and conduct product demonstrations for customer visits and equipment evaluations.
- Visit customer sites to provide technical support and deliver training.
- Troubleshoot failures and abnormal field situations.
- Collect and analyze field failures and provide feedback to the development team.
- Assist design engineers to reproduce and troubleshoot problems.
- Participate in resource allocation and hardware maintenance to support sales and business development activities.
- Help drive future product development.
- Travel 50% for meetings, events, and demonstrations.
- Perform other related duties as needed. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field with at least 2 years of pre- and post-sales technical support experience; OR HS diploma/GED with at least 6 years of such experience.
- Proficiency with RF instruments (signal generators, spectrum analyzers).
- Willingness to travel and work at customer sites.
- Based in the Washington Metropolitan area.
- Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months.
- U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
- All employment contingent on successful background check and drug test. Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Linux.
- Proficiency with TCP/IP networking.
- Experience with operating and testing IP radios/modems.
- Knowledge of wireless communication systems, RF propagation, and digital communications.
- Proficiency with C/C++ programming.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000 – $120,000 per year plus commissions. OTE potential up to $170,000.
