About the Role Join Samsara as a Sales Engineer for the Public Sector to modernize essential industries by applying IoT solutions. This remote role supports City/County/State/Public Schools customers in the US (excluding certain metro areas). You will translate customer needs into technical solutions across hardware, software, deployments, and integrations, helping drive safer, cleaner, and more efficient operations. What You'll Do

  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team).
  • Become an expert on Samsara products: IoT, AI, computer vision, hardware, sensors, and the cloud platform, and how they drive digital transformation for physical operations.
  • Articulate to prospects how customers in their sectors use Samsara today to solve industry challenges.
  • Deliver work products that move deals forward: discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, proof-of-concept implementations, etc.
  • Guide installers through deployment scenarios, sharing best practices for installing Samsara products and building deployment plans.
  • Write scripts against our open API to solve real-world problems and document them for peers.
  • Drive deeper engagement with accounts (integration, upsell, cross-sell) by acting as a trusted consultant to customers.
  • Serve as a liaison between Product and Sales, translating technical feedback and enrolling the right customers in beta programs. What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 2+ years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support capacity.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders based on technical sales acumen and a solid understanding of business processes and change management.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
