About the Role As a Sales Engineer (SE) at Samsara, you’ll join a diverse, technically-minded team that brings connected operations technology to customers. You’ll develop a thorough understanding of IoT hardware, sensors, APIs, and integration scenarios to craft the right technical solutions for prospects and work with the sales team to drive digital transformation. What You'll Do
- Become an expert on Samsara products: IoT, AI, computer vision, and digital transformation for physical operations.
- Demonstrate quick discovery to understand customer needs and answer tech questions, ideally on a single call.
- Be highly available for standard demos and provide temporary technical expertise across the Sales Team.
- Understand device installation enough to explain to a prospect over the phone.
- Educate customers on API technical aspects and deploy scripts leveraging the Samsara API to a testing environment on demand.
- Advocate for AEs, prospects, and customers in internal tech conversations.
- Serve as a liaison between product and sales, translating feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.
- Champion Samsara's values as the company scales globally. What We're Looking For
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- Preferred 1+ years experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
- Well-versed in cloud software, networking, automation and control systems. Nice to Have
- Experience tinkering with hardware gadgets, sensors, or vehicles is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
- Annual OTE: $77,350–$104,000 USD. Total rewards include base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles).
