Job title: Sales Director

About the Role Sales Director will drive revenue across assigned accounts and product lines within S&P Global's fixed income pricing and valuation sales team. The role focuses on new business development, renewals, and the rollout of new products and services, working with cross-functional teams to meet sales targets.

What You'll Do

  • Generate lead pipeline for new business and existing clients; report actual vs budget; forecast accurately.
  • Maintain regular communication with accounts; build trust and identify cross-selling opportunities; coordinate multi-product opportunities with relevant sales specialists.
  • Proactively seek referrals from existing accounts; take ownership of client issues with support from data and business development teams.
  • Maintain pipeline and generate management reports (e.g., cold calls list, user list) from Salesforce; manage CRM data.
  • Keep S&P Global product knowledge high for defined product areas; serve as point person for allocated products; provide client support, technical information, and coaching on sales USPs.
  • Actively participate in sales conferences and events; contribute to sales collateral; client entertainment; association memberships to maximize revenue and retention.
  • Delegate non-revenue activities (billing, initial and on-going client setup and training, contractual administration) to relevant support teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree educated with significant proven sales experience, ideally in data, financial software, asset management or banking.
  • Fixed income, indices and/or OTC derivative knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; excellent organizational abilities; ability to manage multiple sales in parallel with attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of generating own pipeline from cold calls; ability to meet internal/external deadlines.
  • Comfortable presenting and negotiating with senior level management and managing complex sales processes.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Salesforce knowledge is beneficial; commercial acumen; end-to-end sales process experience.
  • Ability to organize self and others, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines.

  • Experience driving sales conferences, special events, and collateral production; client entertainment; association memberships to maximize sales revenue.
  • Demonstrated interest in staying abreast of industry developments.
