Sales Coordinator

THE OPPORTUNITY

An established sheet metal manufacturing company in Hermanstad, Pretoria, is looking for a well-organised, customer-focused Sales Coordinator to join its team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will manage customer orders from receipt through production and dispatch, acting as the link between customers and internal departments. This onsite role suits someone who is comfortable working with ERP systems, engineering documentation and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced production environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sales Order Management

• ▪ Receive, verify and process customer purchase orders

• ▪ Capture and manage orders on the ERP system

• ▪ Ensure orders align with approved pricing, specifications and drawing revisions

• Customer Communication

• ▪ Act as the primary contact for customer enquiries

• ▪ Provide order progress updates

• ▪ Resolve customer queries promptly and professionally

• Cross-Department Coordination

• ▪ Liaise daily with Production Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Stores, Quality Control and Dispatch

• ▪ Ensure customer requirements and delivery deadlines are met

• Delivery & Logistics Support

• ▪ Monitor work-in-progress orders and track urgent customer requests

• ▪ Coordinate dispatch documentation

• ▪ Manage collections and proof-of-delivery records

• Commercial & Administrative Support

• ▪ Maintain accurate customer records

• ▪ Assist with sales activity reporting

• ▪ Work with the finance department to resolve invoicing and account queries

Requirements

• MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• ▪ Grade 12 / Matric

• ▪ 2 – 3 years’ experience in sales coordination, sales administration and customer service

• ▪ Experience within a sheet metal fabrication, metalworking, engineering or industrial manufacturing environment

• SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• ▪ Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and ERP and CRM systems

• ▪ Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications

• ▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• ▪ Strong organisational and multitasking abilities

• ▪ High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• ▪ Customer-focused approach

• ▪ Proactive problem-solving mindset

• ▪ Ability to work effectively under pressure

• The ideal candidate is a well-organised and customer-focused Sales Coordinator with experience in a manufacturing environment, capable of managing customer orders from receipt through production and dispatch while maintaining excellent communication with both customers and internal departments. They are comfortable working with ERP systems, engineering documentation and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced production environment. Manufacturing or sheet metal industry exposure will be highly advantageous.
