Job Summary
We are seeking dynamic, target-driven, and customer-focused Sales & Business Development Specialists to drive customer acquisition, revenue growth, and business expansion for a leading financial institution. The successful candidates will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new customers, promoting banking products and services, developing strong customer relationships, and achieving assigned sales and portfolio growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers through direct sales, referrals, networking, and other business development channels.
- Promote and sell the bank's products and services, including savings and current accounts, loans, credit facilities, cards, digital banking solutions, investments, and other financial products.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Generate and manage a healthy sales pipeline to consistently achieve assigned targets.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and potential customer segments.
- Visit prospective customers, businesses, organizations, and other target locations to generate leads and close sales.
- Cross-sell and up-sell relevant banking products to existing customers.
- Follow up on leads and prospects to convert opportunities into active customers.
- Support customer onboarding and ensure proper completion of account opening and KYC documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, prospects, sales activities, and conversions.
- Monitor customer portfolios and identify opportunities for increased product penetration and revenue generation.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with the bank's policies, regulatory requirements, KYC procedures, and AML guidelines.
- Collaborate with branch teams, relationship managers, operations, and other internal departments to ensure excellent customer service.
- Meet or exceed assigned monthly and quarterly acquisition, revenue, deposit, loan, and product sales targets.
- Prepare regular sales and business development reports for management.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and developments in the financial services industry.
- Participate in sales campaigns, activations, roadshows, and other customer acquisition initiatives.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and escalate complex issues to the appropriate team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, HND, in Business Administration, Marketing, Banking & Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in banking sales, direct sales, business development, relationship management, or financial services.
- Proven experience in achieving sales or customer acquisition targets.
- Strong knowledge of banking products and retail financial services.
- Experience in direct customer acquisition and field sales will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of KYC, AML, and basic banking compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong prospecting and relationship-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a target-driven environment.
- Strong networking and customer engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital banking tools.
- Willingness to travel or work in the field when required.
