About the Role Join Goodwill Industries of the Valleys as a Sales Associate - Part Time in Martinsville, VA to help operate the retail store, assist customers, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment. This role supports security of assets and contributes to profitability through accurate cash handling and effective customer service. What You'll Do
- Greet customers in person or by phone and provide friendly, world-class service
- Operate the cash register/POS, process transactions, and handle cash accurately
- Assist with promotions, signage, stocking, and merchandising; keep front of store, counters, and fixtures neat
- Bag/wrapping merchandise, restock shelves, rotate inventory, and tidy dressing rooms as needed
- Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and report hazards; assist in training new cashiers
- Support promotional events and customer information postings as needed What We're Looking For
- Prioritize excellent customer service and communication
- Ability to read/write and perform basic math; basic workstation skills
- Comfortable handling cash and operating POS systems; adhere to promotions/discounts
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs; physical ability to stock and merchandise
- Team-oriented with ability to work onsite in a retail donation environment Compensation & Benefits
