Setting GP practice
Job Details
What if general practice worked better for GPs, too?
Salaried GP | Penrose Surgery & Maddock Way | South East London
£12,000–£12,800 per session | 4–9 sessions | Six weeks' leave plus public holidays
More medicine. Less administration.
You trained to care for patients, not spend your working day chasing paperwork.
At Penrose Health, we're redesigning general practice to make better use of your clinical expertise. Our GPs are supported by centralised triage, GP Assistants, technology and colleagues who share responsibility for patient care.
We're recruiting an experienced Salaried GP to work across Penrose Surgery and our Maddock Way satellite site, five minutes apart.
What could your day look like?
- 15-minute appointments as standard, typically 12–13 patients per clinical session.
- Centralised, clinician-supervised triage helps patients see the right professional.
- GP Assistants review results, documents and routine tasks before they reach you, so you focus on decisions that need a GP.
- Patient Welcome colleagues take observations, including blood pressure, height and weight, ahead of consultations.
- AI-assisted documentation helps reduce time spent writing up appointments.
- Multidisciplinary working and continuity clinics support thoughtful, joined-up care.
We're not pretending general practice is easy. But we believe the right support makes it better for patients and GPs.
See what your working day could look like:
Supported, not isolated
You'll have regular one-to-ones with your Clinical Lead, practice clinical meetings and group-wide special interest discussions, including safeguarding meetings where colleagues learn from each other.
Monthly Protected Learning Time, up to five paid study days and opportunities to develop specialist interests or contribute to quality improvement mean development is part of the job, not an afterthought.
What we're offering
- £12,000–£12,800 per session, depending on experience.
- Four to nine sessions weekly, with part-time options.
- Six weeks' annual leave plus public holidays.
- Five days' paid study leave and monthly Protected Learning Time.
- NHS Pension Scheme and NHS sickness arrangements.
- Optional Saturday clinics, not a contractual requirement.
Two sites, one team
You'll work across Penrose Surgery and Maddock Way, just five minutes apart, with excellent transport links: around five minutes' walk to Kennington Underground and ten minutes to Vauxhall station.
We're working towards new purpose-built premises in 2027.
Who we're looking for
You'll have at least one year's post-CCT experience, full GMC registration and a licence to practise, and inclusion on the NHS England GP Performers List.
You'll bring sound judgement, a collaborative approach and a commitment to patient care.
Come and see for yourself
Shortlisted candidates are invited to a paid locum session so you can experience working with us before deciding.
