About the Role Michael Kors is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to safeguard warehouse personnel, equipment and operations at our Venlo site. You will develop and implement safety protocols, deliver training, and promote a culture of safety in collaboration with the Safety & Security team and operations. What You'll Do
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations.
- Support the completion of the RI&E action plan by coordinating with stakeholders and maintaining up-to-date records of compliance status.
- Implement safety policies, standards, and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents, injuries, and property damage.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to educate employees on standard methodologies and ensure their understanding and compliance.
- Provide expert mentorship and advice to warehouse staff on safety matters, including safe handling of equipment, PPE usage, and ergonomics.
- Lead cooperative efforts with the operations team to ensure that the site achieves all safety metrics and that safety and operations strategies are integrated.
- Interact with operation leaders to ensure safety and operations strategies are properly implemented.
- Respond to all safety-related incidents; investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings, root causes, and recommendations for preventive measures.
- Ensure all incidents are properly reported in the company’s incident management system.
- Support the activities of the Emergency Response Team (BHV) and participate in planned training and exercises.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in safety regulations, recommending vital updates to the safety program as needed.
- Engage and collaborate with the Safety & Security team in all key DC activities, as necessary.
- Other duties as required and assigned. What We're Looking For
- Broad experience in Safety Management, with knowledge of laws and regulations and the ability to translate vision into practical working methods.
- Relevant qualification in Health & Safety.
- Proven experience in warehouse safety or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective preventive measures.
- Ability to deliver engaging safety training sessions and facilitate discussions on safety-related topics.
- Detail-oriented attitude and strong problem-solving skills to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Proficiency in using MS Office tools to track safety performance and generate reports.
- Fluent in Dutch and English. Nice to Have
- Experience in implementing and maintaining behavior-based safety culture.
- Experience in team (and/or project) management.
- CPR and First Aid Certified & previous BHV training would be a nice to have. Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation Range: 40.000,00 - 60.000,00 EUR
