Summary
- Java Construction is seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable HSE regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential hazards and risks.
- Enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and safety training for workers.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare reports.
- Monitor safe work practices and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
- Promote a strong safety culture across construction sites.
Requirements
- HND or B.Sc. in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Relevant HSE certification is an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of construction site safety practices and HSE regulations.
- Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
