Job title: Safety Coordinator
About the Role The Safety Coordinator will promote continuous improvement of facility safety and health systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and integrating safe behaviors into daily operations. This role helps foster a safety-conscious culture and partners with operations to implement the company’s safety programs.
What You'll Do
- Promote the continuous improvement of facility safety and health systems to reduce accidents and illness, ensure regulatory compliance, and make safe behaviors part of day-to-day thinking.
- Lead, motivate and foster a safety-conscious culture; coordinate and manage day-to-day activities to meet safety and health standards established by regulation and internal policies.
- Keep the facility up to date on all safety programs established by the corporate safety team.
- Conduct regulatory assessments and maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local health and safety regulations.
- Interface daily with hourly and salaried employees to promote safety programs and accident prevention.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and safety inspections; initiate corrective actions to eliminate hazards and promote a safe work environment.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma; Bachelor's Degree in Health/Safety or related Science preferred.
- 2-4 years of related safety work experience in manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations and industry requirements.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Nice to Have
- Read, write and understand English; bilingual Spanish helpful.
- Occasional travel may be required.
