About the Role

The City of Bothell’s Safety and Claims Coordinator is a part-time position within the Employee and Technology Services Department that manages workers’ compensation programs, ensures compliance with L&I guidelines, and supports safety training. The role begins onsite for up to six months, with a path to hybrid work thereafter.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate the City’s workers’ compensation program, process claim documentation, maintain accurate records, and monitor/ analyze claim data to ensure compliance with L&I guidelines.
  • Communicate with employees, medical providers, and management regarding claims; coordinate with physicians on light duty offers, work restrictions, and return-to-work capabilities.
  • Analyze claim data and provide recommendations on claims management; prepare documentation for audits and related administrative reporting.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees into safety programs, including administrative tracking, data entry, compliance monitoring, and follow-up on trainings across a variety of safety, risk management, and personnel-related programs.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience coordinating workers’ compensation programs and knowledge of L&I guidelines.
  • Ability to evaluate qualitative and quantitative information objectively and make sound recommendations.
  • Strong collaboration skills to strengthen internal and external partnerships; take ownership of decisions and follow through on commitments.
  • Effective time management and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Clear communication with employees, medical providers, and management.
