Job Summary/Purpose

Internally classified as "Analyst Sr - Lead" the Safety Analyst is responsible for analyzing, compiling, and delivering safety performance metrics across the Enterprise and Power Generation systems. The Safety Analyst supports the organization’s safety strategy by transforming safety, operational, and workforce data into actionable insights that help prevent serious injuries and fatalities and improve overall safety performance. This role leverages data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and emerging technologies to identify trends, detect risk patterns, evaluate safety performance and support proactive decision-making.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conducts complex business and financial analysis based on project scope and objectives and develops policy recommendations to management based on findings.
  • Defines protocols and requirements for data quality control and ensures that all analysis and project work adhere to requirements.
  • Provides industry expertise and applies best practices to project work based on experience.
  • Interacts with department management and may interact with leadership throughout the organization to identify issues that warrant future projects.
  • Mentors junior analysts and other colleagues in project management, goal setting, and other related areas.
  • Develop dashboards, scorecards, heat maps, leading indicators, and other visualization tools that translate complex data into actionable information.
  • Apply AI, machine learning, and advanced analytical tools to support predictive and proactive approaches to safety risk identification.
  • Develop automated reporting and data workflows that reduce manual administrative work and improve the speed, consistency, and accuracy of safety information.
  • Stays abreast of regulatory or political changes that may impact Entergy policy decision-making.
  • Develop, track, analyze and report on safety performance metrics.
  • Compile performance results, and drivers, and track associated improvement plans.
  • Responsible for preparing data responses for internal and external requests for information and benchmarking.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field required or equivalent work experience. Desired: Master's Degree.

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Analyst II: 2-4 years of professional experience.
  • Analyst III: 4-6 years of professional experience.
  • Analyst Sr: At least 6 years of professional experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Strong knowledge of safety principles, risk management, and safety performance metrics, including leading and lagging indicators
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends and emerging risks, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with data analytics, visualization, and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of AI, automation and emerging technologies and their application to safety analytics and risk reduction.

Strong communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to leaders and business partners.
