About the Role Provides first-line supervision of Entergy full-time and temporary Radiation Protection Operations personnel in a safe, productive manner. Supervises daily RP Operations tasks, including on-shift activities, and manages multiple and potentially conflicting priorities. Serves as a team leader and participates in the Emergency Response Organization. What You'll Do
- Proficient at managing a multi-disciplined group possibly including union and contractor oversight.
- Maintains an excellent understanding of the work management process.
- Functions as a team leader.
- Assists in RP budget development and functions within the budget.
- Communicates with all levels of the organization, including representing the department at meetings.
- Ensures assigned tasks are performed as safely and efficiently as possible.
- Proposes time-saving tooling and work methods.
- Ensures RP activities are performed within regulatory and procedural guidelines.
- Manages personnel and resolves employee conflict or concerns.
- Interfaces with other Entergy sites to maximize resource sharing of RP personnel.
- Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.
- Communicates technical Radiation Protection information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
- Participates in the shared resources program.
- Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization. What We're Looking For
- Education: B.S. in Health Physics or related technical degree (may be credited for 3 years of experience) or High School Diploma with 4 years of experience in the craft and at least 5 years in RP Operations.
- Experience/Standards: Must meet ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines; site Technical Specifications, FSAR, or procedures may contain additional requirements.
- Experience: 4 years of experience in the supervised craft; at least 5 years of experience in RP Operations.
- Technical: Technical proficiency in RP operations; technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation; proficiency with current computer business applications; familiarity with ANSI/ANS standards.
- Certifications/Regulatory: ANSI Section 4.3.2 – Supervisors Not Requiring NRC Licenses; at appointment, a high school diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in the craft.
