Job title: Route Trainee
About the Role The Route Trainee will learn to deliver, merchandize, and promote PBV's beverages on assigned routes. This role combines driving, stocking, order taking, and in-store merchandising to support sales and customer service. You’ll gain practical experience with handheld order/invoicing tools and day-to-day route operations.
What You'll Do
- Drive and maneuver a truck with a gross vehicle weight under 26,000 pounds, or operate a company car/pickup.
- Fill and merchandize all coolers, displays, racks, shelves in PBV standards.
- Deliver and place orders and run invoices; create and utilize point-of-sale signage.
- Sell and execute promotions; service all customers as scheduled.
- Verify all cases and monies at end of day; obtain customer signatures on invoices.
- Communicate with customers and co-workers; follow company rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business channel.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Three to five years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Positive attitude, detail-oriented; able to perform basic financial calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Excellent oral and written communication; able to perform heavy physical labor and work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Self-starter with excellent follow-up skills; able to work well in a team; PBV driving qualifications; willingness to work hours necessary.
