Room Attendant (Full Time) at InterContinental Lagos, Houston, TX

Overview

Clean guest rooms and/or suites in a timely and thorough manner to ensure total guest satisfaction. Represent InterContinental Hotels & Resorts by being approachable, confident, respectful, attentive, and knowledgeable to create moments that make guests feel special.

Responsibilities

• Notify your supervisor when service is complete so rooms may be sold or occupied; report any room that cannot be serviced according to established procedures.
• Report to your supervisor any needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
• Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective action to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
• Log and/or turn in all lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, and, where applicable, cleaning kitchen areas, room refrigerators, coffee makers, cups, glasses, and silverware.
• Follow established safety procedures at all times and wear protective equipment when needed.
• May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects and other duties as assigned.
• May perform turndown duties where required.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills; some housekeeping experience and ability to speak English preferred.
• Physical ability to perform duties, including carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling items up to 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 200 pounds; frequently stand, move about, handle objects and equipment; frequently bend, stoop, and kneel.
• Strong communication skills for interactions with guests and employees.
• Ability to read room assignments and complete checklists, replace room linens and amenities.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
