About the Role This Registered Nurse (RN) 1 position is based in Concord Hospital's inpatient telemetry specialty area in Laconia, NH. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for a group of population-specific patients, from simple to complex cases, in a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN collaborates with families and the care team and reports to the Director and/or Nurse Manager. May participate in supervising Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel.
What You'll Do
- Bases nursing actions by applying principles of purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgments and decisions.
- Gathers data through history taking and physical assessment and interprets data to plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
- Develops, evaluates and revises patient care plan and nursing actions in response to patient needs.
- Documents care provided and patient progress toward desired outcomes.
- Directs and supervises others in the performance of delegated nursing activities.
- Teaches the patient and/or significant others about the plan of care.
- Prepares patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer or preparation for procedures/tests.
- Manages time and resources to deliver patient care.
- Administers medications to patients.
- Provides direct patient care.
- Leads the health care team.
- Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current New Hampshire State Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or equivalent.
- Certifications/Competencies: Department-specific certifications as required by management policy.
- Experience: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients and care providers, and to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Skills/Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, and ability to collaborate within healthcare teams.
