Job title: RN | Telemetry | Full Time | Days

About the Role The RN 2 is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for a group of population-specific patients within the department/unit, handling simple to complex multi-system issues in a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN applies knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan, assesses patient data, interprets information to identify age-specific needs, and engages in caring relationships with patients, families, and the care team. The RN works collaboratively with other health care professionals, uses sound judgment in nursing and medical interventions, and adheres to organizational standards and protocols. Reports to the Director and/or Nurse Manager and may supervise licensed and unlicensed staff as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Base nursing actions on purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgments/decisions.
  • Gather data through history taking and physical assessment and interpret data to plan and implement interventions.
  • Develop, evaluate and revise the patient's plan of care and nursing actions in response to patient needs.
  • Document care provided and patient progress toward outcomes.
  • Direct and supervise others in delegated nursing activities.
  • Teach the patient and/or family about the plan of care.
  • Prepare patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer, or prior to procedures/tests.
  • Manage time and resources to deliver patient care.
  • Administer medications to patients.
  • Provide direct patient care.
  • Lead the health care team.
  • Serve as a Resource Person for the assigned shift.
  • Serve as a preceptor for new employees.
  • Perform additional job-specific requirements and other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Certification, Registration & Licensure: Registered Nurse - New Hampshire Board of Nursing; Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
  • Experience: One year of prior clinical nursing experience; ability to work effectively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team; ability to function as a team member.

Nice to Have

  • BSN preferred.
  • Experience in telemetry or multi-system care.
