About the Role This Registered Nurse (RN) 2 role is in the Special Care Nursery/Postpartum inpatient unit. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a defined population of patients from simple to complex cases, in a safe and therapeutic environment. The role emphasizes developmentally appropriate care, collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to specialty and organizational standards.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care and administer medications according to physician orders and standards of practice.
- Gather data through history taking and physical assessment; interpret data to plan and implement interventions meeting patient care needs.
- Develop, evaluate and revise the patient's plan of care and nursing actions in response to patient needs.
- Document care provided and patient progress toward outcomes.
- Direct and supervise others in the performance of delegated nursing activities; teach patients and/or significant others about the plan of care.
- Prepare patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer, or preparation for procedure/test.
- Manage time and resources to deliver patient care efficiently.
- Report to the Director and/or Nurse Manager.
- Administer medications to patients.
- May supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse - New Hampshire Board of Nursing; Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
- Experience: One year of clinical nursing experience; demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients, care providers, and multidisciplinary team; strong collaboration and teamwork.
- Other: Adherence to specialty standards and organizational standards, policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols.
Nice to Have
- BSN preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: not disclosed in posting.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3 twelve-hour shifts; 7:00 pm–7:30 am; every other weekend and holidays required.
