About the Role This position is a Registered Nurse (RN) who assumes a visible leadership role and is responsible for overseeing patient care and administrative activities in their respective units and care delivery. Oversees day-to-day unit operations and continually evaluates the quality and effectiveness of patient care, clinical judgment, productivity, staffing, and education. Supports Logan Health's mission, vision, and values.
What You'll Do
- Assume a visible leadership role and oversee patient care and administrative activities in assigned unit(s) and care delivery.
- Oversee day-to-day unit operations, evaluate quality and effectiveness of patient care, clinical judgment, interpersonal and communication skills, staffing, productivity, and education; promote safe staffing assignments.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals according to HR guidelines; provide regular feedback; participate in hiring, corrective action and termination decisions.
- Develop, revise and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and professional practice acts applicable to assigned area(s); serve as a role model and resource.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities; advocate for professional nursing practice and support unit-based councils.
- Coordinate patient assignments according to acuity and skill mix; work with unit leadership to determine staffing requirements and communicate feedback; document unusual events.
- Lead the hiring process, prepare and deliver evaluations and corrective action for staff; create schedules and oversee competency assessments.
- Lead and coordinate compliance and quality efforts; act as SME for assigned staff; maintain regular attendance.
- Shift: Night Shift - 12 Hours; Schedule: 3 12-Hour Night Shifts.
What We're Looking For
- Current Montana RN License or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice in Montana; required.
- BSN degree preferred.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year current unit-specific experience; experience in higher acuity unit preferred.
- Previous Charge Nurse or Supervisor experience preferred.
- National Certification in unit-specific preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge, integrity, kindness, empathy, and leadership ability.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; effective with diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage confidential situations with tact and diplomacy; work well in a team and independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Nice to Have
- National Certification in unit-specific preferred.
- Additional leadership or supervisory experience.
