Job title: RN - Part-Time (On-Site) - Cut Bank, MT
About the Role Part-Time, on-site RN position at Cut Bank CAH (Med/Surg and Emergency Department). In collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, the RN provides primary care through assessment, treatment planning, and medical care evaluation, while supporting patients and families and overseeing assigned team members as applicable.
What You'll Do
- Cross-train in other nursing areas, including Acute Care, Emergency Department, Operating Room, Outpatient, etc.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process for the assigned area.
- Provide direct patient care according to policies and RN standards; perform unit-specific competencies and nursing treatments.
- Transcribe and implement provider orders; document chart reviews and observations; timely document all patient care in the electronic health record.
- Comply with infection control and safety policies; dispose of biohazard materials per protocol; perform environmental cleaning and equipment quality control.
- Identify and report changes in patient condition and coordinate necessary interventions.
- Adhere to the code of professional nursing; maintain current knowledge and participate in continuing education.
- Provide patient and family education about health and medical needs.
- Assess needs, problem-solve, and coordinate interventions per policy and provider orders.
- Precept and/or assist with orientation of new personnel.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an RN program from an accredited school; required.
- Montana RN license or multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing in Montana; required.
- BSN degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting preferred; experience in assigned area(s) preferred.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, and nursing practice.
- Healthcare Provider CPR and/or BLS certification required as dictated by service area.
- Certifications as applicable to assignment: Status employees: NRP, PALS, ACLS within 12 months of hire; TNCC or ENPC and Stable within 18 months of hire; PRN employees: BLS required; NRP, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, Stable and ENPC preferred.
- Additional certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s).
- Understanding of HIPAA; knowledge of equipment, supplies, and labs; OSHA rules and safety protocol.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter; critical thinking; ability to work in a team and independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with diverse audiences; maintain confidentiality.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn other software as needed.
