About the Role This RN Outpatient role at Chester Rural Health Clinic provides primary care to patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation. The position is PRN (as needed) to support busy periods, absences, and vacations, with flexibility to the needs of the team and organization.
What You'll Do
- Develops, implements and coordinates individualized nursing care using the nursing process for the assigned area.
- Maintains nursing standards of care and responds to changing workloads and patient conditions by remaining calm, prioritizing, and asking for assistance as appropriate.
- Transcribes and implements provider orders and treatments (verbal and written) accurately; consistently problem-solves issues affecting patient care.
- Maintains infection control procedures per policy; performs clinical testing with various techniques; collects, packages, labels specimens, and forwards to designated labs per protocol.
- Provides patient and family instruction via telephone triage and/or patient visits.
- Performs administrative duties per department procedure and coordinates triage calls in the EMR; coordinates care and follow-up for lab work, transfusions, and/or infusions in the patient’s preferred community locations.
- Serves as a primary point of contact and coordination for associated treatment and/or infusion services.
- Assesses patient needs and, under provider direction, oversees and directs the care provided by assistive personnel, maintaining accountability for care given.
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and contributes to a team environment.
- Other duties may be assigned consistent with knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
What We're Looking For
- Current Montana RN license or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required.
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ RN experience in a similar position within a medical setting (e.g., physician office, clinic, or hospital) required.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory to administer and evaluate patient care; basic medical office procedures and medical terminology.
- Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR, ACLS, and/or BLS certification required and/or as dictated by each practice/service line.
- Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical office; basic laboratory methods and universal precautions.
- OSHA rules and regulations knowledge; understanding of confidentiality laws (HIPAA); awareness of managed care carrier restrictions.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a team and independently; critical thinking and priority-setting.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
