Job title: RN | Med Surg/Tele | 24 Hours | Nights
About the Role The Registered Nurse (RN) 2 provides nursing care to a group of patients in the Med Surg/Tele unit, from assessment through evaluation, in a safe and therapeutic environment. The role emphasizes applying growth and development knowledge across the lifespan, interpreting patient data, and delivering evidence-based interventions while collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team. The RN adheres to specialty and organizational standards and may supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel; reports to the Director and/or Nurse Manager.
What You'll Do
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, applying clinical judgment to meet age-specific needs.
- Gather data through history taking and physical assessments and use findings to plan and implement interventions.
- Develop, evaluate, and revise the patient’s plan of care and nursing actions as patient needs change.
- Document care provided and patient progress toward outcome attainment.
- Direct and supervise others in delegated nursing activities; administer medications; provide direct patient care.
- Teach patients and/or families about the plan of care and prepare for discharge, transfer, or procedure/test.
- Manage time and resources to deliver high-quality patient care and serve as a resource person for the shift.
- Lead the health care team and serve as a preceptor for new employees.
- Perform job-specific duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Certification/ Licensure: Registered Nurse – New Hampshire Board of Nursing; Basic Life Support – American Heart Association.
- Experience: One year of clinical nursing experience; ability to work effectively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team.
