About the Role The RN II provides direct patient care in the Surgery Main setting and collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians, and the health care team to deliver high-quality care tailored to the patient population. The role requires assessment, care planning, and ongoing evaluation in alignment with growth and development, hospital philosophy, policies, and professional standards. The RN II demonstrates leadership, accountability, and a commitment to professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care and collaborate with patients, families, peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team to deliver health care services.
- Assess patient needs, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on nursing knowledge and standards.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and professional accountability; participate in care coordination, policy adherence, and quality improvement.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and nursing philosophies; maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and certifications.
- Coordinate with departments and specialties as required by assigned unit (e.g., L&D, ED, ICU, Perianesthesia, Cardiology, Radiology, Surgery, etc.).
What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing or enrollment in an RN-BSN or RN-MSN program within one year of hire and completion within five years of hire if hired after July 1, 2012.
- Licensure/Certification: California RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required on hire; Additional certifications required based on assigned department (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, and AWHONN advanced fetal monitoring). Specific timelines apply (e.g., ACLS upon hire for certain units; PALS and NRP for others; STABLE/other certifications within designated days).
- Additional department-specific requirements: Examples include ED, ICU, L&D, Perianesthesia, Cardiology, Radiology, Surgery, and Neonatal care.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $43.59 - $69.36 per hour. Sign On Bonus Eligible.
