About the Role
This RN 2 role provides direct patient care in an inpatient specialty area, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for a population-specific group of patients with varying acuity. The nurse uses growth and development knowledge across the life span, interprets data to meet age-specific needs, and collaborates with families and the multidisciplinary team while adhering to standards, policies, and protocols. This position reports to the Director and/or Nurse Manager and may supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care.
- Base nursing actions on purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgments.
- Gather data through history taking and physical assessment and interpret data to plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
- Develop, evaluate and revise patient's plan of care and nursing actions in response to patient needs.
- Document care provided and patient's progress toward attainment of desired outcomes.
- Direct and supervise others in the performance of delegated nursing activities.
- Teach the patient and/or significant other(s) about the plan of care.
- Prepare patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer or preparation for procedure/test.
- Manage time and resources to deliver patient care.
- Administers medications to patients.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse - New Hampshire Board of Nursing; Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
- Experience: One year of clinical nursing experience; proven ability to work effectively with patients, care providers, and multidisciplinary teams; ability to function as a team member.

- BSN preferred.
