Job title: RN-Hematology/Oncology Coordinator

About the Role The RN-Hematology/Oncology Coordinator works collaboratively as an active member of the inter-professional team to provide therapeutic patient and family-centered care in the Hematology/Oncology population within the Cancer Care Program. They help develop, execute and evaluate the multidisciplinary plan of care and establish goals and strategies for care coordination, discharge, and continuing care across settings with patients, families, and other care providers.

What You'll Do

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies; takes action to resolve questions or concerns and reports suspected violations.
  • Educates patients and families about oncology care plans and ongoing needs.
  • Consults physician or medical director on complex medical changes and management.
  • Coordinates family conferences with the clinical care team based on clinical changes or milestones.
  • Collaborates with the patient, family, significant others and health care providers in providing patient care.
  • Delegates and supervises care in accordance with nurse practice acts and professional nursing roles.
  • Initiates multidisciplinary collaboration to positively impact health outcomes.
  • Initiates steps to support and enhance the patient’s responsibility and self-determination in decision-making concerning health, treatment and well-being.
  • Involves the individual patient/family in identification of requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Licensure/Certification: California RN licensure; Oncology Certified Nurse within three (3) years of hire if assigned to Hematology/Oncology department; American Heart Association BLS.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of direct patient care experience in Oncology nursing.
  • Skills: Ability to effectively delegate and supervise, read/write/communicate effectively, professional nursing knowledge, ability to function as a professional role model; knowledge of current nursing, medical and health trends and practices; ability to work at alternate sites/clinics.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $48.09 - $78.19 per hour USD.
