About the Role The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department provides patient-centered care using the nursing process, coordinates care with physicians and the healthcare team, and delivers high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on nights and weekends, with opportunities to impact patient outcomes and family support. What You'll Do
- Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with organizational policies, protocols, and the nursing process.
- Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately, reporting changes in condition to the care team.
- Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
- Assists physicians during procedures within the scope of documented competency; collaborates on care plans.
- Responds to medical emergencies, participates in life-saving interventions (e.g., CPR, code team activities).
- Advocates for patients' rights and needs; provides patient and family education on conditions, plans, and post-discharge care.
- Maintains infection control, monitors equipment, and adheres to safety standards.
- Participates in audits, chart reviews, and performance improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes. What We're Looking For
- 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting or student clinical rotations.
- Active RN license (state licensure or compact licensure).
- BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement. Nice to Have
- ACLS and PALS certifications preferred; emergency department experience is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
