About this role
RN - Cardiovascular Unit - Nights seeks a Registered Nurse to provide bedside and virtual care on a mixed Cardiac/Tele and Neuro/Stroke unit at Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus. This role supports patient care across age groups, collaborates with the care team, and contributes to discharge planning and education.
What You'll Do
- Provide virtual and bedside nursing to assigned patients, monitor and care for patients, and communicate patient care information to the bedside RN.
- Act as a knowledge resource to the bedside RN; may perform medication reconciliation, completion of procedure checklists, second nurse sign-off for meds/skin checks, contact families, answer questions for patients and/or families, and perform patient and family education and discharge planning.
- Document patient interactions via EPIC.
What We're Looking For
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; if ASN is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of start date (effective Sept 1, 2021); RN Diploma nurses may be grandfathered if start date predates Sept 1, 2021; current Illinois RN licensure.
- Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS within 6 months of start date; NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification within 6 months of start date.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
- 1 year of bedside inpatient nursing experience in an acute care setting (highly preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $36.00 - $55.80.
