About the Role
The Youth Development Professional at Riverview KidsCare supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County by providing a safe, engaging environment for youth ages 5–12 participating in KidsCare programming. This school-based, part-time role focuses on program delivery, supervision, and relationship-building to promote positive youth development and strong connections with families and school staff.
What You'll Do
- Actively supervise and engage youth throughout daily program activities, maintaining full visibility and awareness of all members.
- Ensure health, safety, and well-being by enforcing Club expectations, monitoring behavior, and keeping program spaces clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Respond quickly to injuries, emergencies, behavioral concerns, and safety situations in accordance with organizational policies.
- Support safe transitions, routines, and structured supervision in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Assist with the delivery of fun, creative, and educational activities that foster learning, teamwork, personal growth, and positive youth outcomes.
- Utilize Youth Development Strategies to promote belonging, competence, usefulness, and influence among members.
- Create positive interactions and meaningful experiences that support youth development and engagement; foster an inclusive environment where all youth feel welcomed.
- Model and reinforce positive behavior, respect, responsibility, and inclusion; build strong relationships with youth, families, coworkers, and school personnel.
- Contribute to a welcoming, team-oriented environment that aligns with the mission and values of Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County.
- Provide administrative support, including attendance tracking, recordkeeping, and program documentation; participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with safety requirements and program procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; must be at least 18 years old.
- Demonstrated competence working with youth ages 5–12.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- High energy, interpersonal skills, and ability to maintain composure in emergencies.
- Ability to move continuously throughout program areas (walking in figure-8 patterns, bending, kneeling, reaching) for extended periods.
- Visual and audible monitoring of children in multiple settings (indoor and outdoor).
- Willingness to stand or sit for extended periods and to lift, carry, push, or move objects up to 20 lbs.
- Bilingual skills preferred (not required).

Compensation & Benefits
- Hours: Part-time, 19.17 hours per week; Monday through Friday, 1:40pm–5:30pm
- Location: School-based KidsCare program in Elkhart County
