Ride/Show Systems Engineer

About the Role At NBCUniversal's Universal United Kingdom Resort (UUKR), the Ride/Show Systems Engineer contributes to technical management, including budget and schedule, for one or more attractions. The role supports specification, bid/award, design, production, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and/or Show systems, to include Set/Scenic elements, or Props. What You'll Do

• Provides engineering technical (calculation, design, drafting, research) assistance to the Ride/Show teams in support of scenic scopes of work.
• Reviews portions of vendor-provided design review documents, including drawing review, component selection review, calculation review, test plan review, test results review, or review of other deliverable items as specified by engineering management.
• Edits and updates Ride/Show engineering specifications as specifically assigned by Ride/Show engineering management in support of scenic system delivery.
• Assists Ride/Show team in managing vendors through the process of bidding, designing, manufacturing, testing, shipping, installation, start up, and commissioning of show action equipment.
• Reviews, edits, or develops test protocols, procedures, and plans.
• Executes witness or approve testing and test results as assigned and authorised by Engineering & Safety management.
• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
• Perform other duties. What We're Looking For
• A background in engineering with proficiency in calculation, design, drafting, and research to support scenic scopes of work.
• Experience reviewing vendor design documents, test plans, and test results; ability to edit/update engineering specifications.
• Experience managing vendors through bidding, design, fabrication, testing, shipping, installation, start up, and commissioning of show action equipment.
• Ability to develop or review test protocols and procedures; witness or approve testing as authorized.
• Understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities and adherence to policies (UDX).
