About the Role Silvus is seeking an RF Test Engineer who will report to the Director of RF Engineering on the RF Engineering team. The successful individual will actively participate in all aspects of the design process to develop the RF subsystem for Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line. This position is 100% onsite at our Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego, CA office. What You'll Do
- Using RF test equipment to evaluate system performance, evaluate compliance compatibility and troubleshoot operation issues.
- Carry out RF test execution and generate status and test reports.
- Define verification matrix and internal specifications of RF performance.
- Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
- Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
- Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
- Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment.
- Understand proper use and handling of sensitive RF circuits and equipment.
- Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
- Travel Requirement – Rare local travel, as required by Silvus (i.e. Irvine, West LA). What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience.
- Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging.
- Hands-on experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues.
- Experience using RF simulation tools (i.e. AWR Microwave Office, Altium).
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

- Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 yearly
