About this role
Job title: RF Characterization Engineer
About the Role Skyworks Solutions seeks an RF Characterization Engineer who will play a key role in the development of Skyworks’ acoustic SAW/BAW technologies. The engineer will support the filter design group with characterization and analysis of filters and multiplexers, and will focus on characterization and analysis of MEMS devices worldwide, collaborating with US and Asian engineering teams.
What You'll Do
- Work seamlessly as a member of Skyworks’ filter team to advance BAW/SAW technologies.
- Advance the characterization and analysis of RF MEMS filter/multiplexer including S-parameters, IMD & harmonics generation, and ruggedness.
- Design and TO MCM/laminate breakout board for filter/multiplexer, for small signal and large signal characterizations.
- Develop new test solutions required to understand the capabilities and limits of state-of-the-art MEMS devices.
- Enable automation to gather device statistics, and improve efficiency.
- Analyze / process characterization data for use by design and/or modeling teams.
- Collaborate with modeling & NPI engineers on model development through design of experiments.
- Manage laboratory activities and logistics of material (filters, MCM break-out, module builds).
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience; Master’s degree with 3 years experience preferred.
- A proven track record as a team player on an engineering team, preferably with experience functioning effectively in a multi-cultural, multi-geographic engineering environment.
- Demonstrated skills in advanced RF characterization -- S-parameters, hot S-parameters, IMD & harmonics generation.
- Strong CAD for MCM/laminate layout.
- Understanding of electromagnetic theory and circuit design.
- Understanding in either semiconductors and/or acoustic devices. Knowledge in semiconductor process or MEMS technology desirable.
- Knowledge in scripting, especially with Matlab and/or Python, as well as ADS.
- Strong skill in data analytics is desirable.
- Demonstrated strong communication /presentation skills.
Nice to Have
- The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and experience in working with test methodologies and analysis for semiconductor and/or MEMS devices.
- Knowledge of BAW/SAW devices is a big plus.
- The candidate will have the ability to function effectively in a multi-cultural, multi-geographic environment and must also be able to collaborate well with other engineers to achieve divisional objectives.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD 114,400 - 220,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
