The Revenue Transformation Lead is responsible for evaluating, redesigning, and modernizing Sage’s revenue accounting, reporting, and finance systems landscape. This individual will bring a fresh perspective to existing processes, systems, controls, and product configurations, finding opportunities to improve scalability, automation, compliance, and operational efficiency.
The role serves as the bridge between Finance, Revenue Operations, Tax, Technology, Product, and Sales, leading initiatives that transform how revenue is captured, processed, reported, and analyzed across the organization. This position will play a critical leadership role in ERP and finance transformation initiatives, ensuring that future-state revenue and reporting processes are aligned with business objectives, accounting standards, and long-term growth strategies.
Your New Role:
- Serve as the subject matter expert in U.S. GAAP ASC 606, interpreting and applying new accounting standards and supporting the development, communication, and enforcement of global US GAAP accounting policies.
- Lead and document revenue recognition assessments for new and existing products under ASC 606, including the identification of performance obligations, evaluation of transaction price, and determination of revenue timing.
- Gain a deep understanding of existing revenue and financial reporting business processes and play a lead role in designing and implementing future‑state processes, controls, and reporting frameworks as part of ERP transformation initiatives.
- Partner with Revenue Operations and Tax teams on contract and product setup within finance systems to ensure that customer contracts are accounted for in accordance with the five‑step revenue recognition model and appropriate sales tax treatment is applied.
- Assess and optimize monthly revenue close processes, reconciliations, and controls to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability.
- Evaluate and strengthen revenue-related reporting processes to support accurate internal, external, and audit reporting requirements.
- Design scalable governance frameworks, controls, and reporting standards that support future-state revenue operations.
- Support executive leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and presentation materials, including management and Board presentations.
- Based on accounting guidelines, develop and lead special projects aimed at improving operational efficiency by demonstrating both new and existing financial systems and tools within the finance function.
- Manage operational improvement initiatives to streamline financial operations, increase efficiency, and adapt to Sage’s evolving business needs.
- Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Sales, Revenue Operations, Technology, and Finance collaborators to support reporting, revenue recognition and existing and future finance system configuration.
Can you be our new Revenue Transformation Lead?
This may include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Minimum of 8+ years in progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Prior experience managing revenue accounting in an industry setting, including responsibility for ongoing revenue recognition judgments under ASC 606.
- BA or BS, in accounting or finance, desired, graduate degree in accounting a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
- Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in the ability to navigate through challenging matters
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and highly agile when faced with new and unfamiliar matters.
- Detail oriented, analytical, and ability to multitask in fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Must be able to express accounting concepts clearly both orally and in writing in a way which can be understood by both specialists and non-specialists.
- Well organized, excellent at planning ahead, able to adjust to changing priorities and manage a team to deliver on time and to a high professional standard.
- Experience leading revenue transformation initiatives, including complex, multi-phase project leadership, future-state process design, controls, reporting, and system configuration.
- Demonstrated experience improving revenue close processes, reconciliations, reporting, automation, scalability, and revenue-related controls in a complex finance environment.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Revenue Operations, Tax, Legal, Sales, Product, and Technology collaborators, including presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
- Experience evaluating complex customer contracts, product configurations, performance obligations, transaction price, and revenue recognition timing under ASC 606.

- Ability to translate complex accounting, revenue recognition, and systems concepts into clear insights and recommendations for leadership and cross-functional collaborators.
- Proven ability to support complex, multi-phase transformation initiatives while managing competing priorities, deadlines, and collaborator expectations.
- Strong controls, compliance, and governance attitude when assessing revenue processes, reporting requirements, audit needs, and confidential financial data.
- Ability to influence change, build cross-functional alignment, and support sustainable operational improvement across Finance, Revenue Operations, Tax, Legal, Sales, Product, and Technology teams.
- Highly organized, diligent, and able to prepare clear, thorough, and executive-ready documentation, analysis, and recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with strong learning agility and systems proficiency.
