Job title: Retail Pharmacist (PRN)
About the Role We are seeking a PRN Retail Pharmacist to join Logan Health's Outpatient Clinical Pharmacy team in Kalispell, MT. This position provides direct patient care within a collaborative healthcare environment and supports the team in delivering quality, cost-effective care. Shift: Variable; PRN scheduled as needed; shifts may include Monday–Saturday (8 or 10 hours); closed on Sundays.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and verify orders for therapeutic appropriateness, dosing, interactions, route and rate of administration, and potential adverse effects.
- Provide patient-specific pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug information to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Perform daily review of pharmacy reports, including pharmacokinetic monitoring when applicable.
- Document clinical interventions in the electronic medical record; implement drug use policy and formulary decisions.
- Review and update Collaborative Practice Agreements; support and precept pharmacy students and supervise technicians.
- Participate in direct patient care activities such as rounding, discharge counseling, order verification, and education of other healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate medication ordering, preparation, dispensing, and administration systems for oncology patients when applicable.
- Maintain ongoing knowledge through continuing education and ensure HIPAA compliance.
What We're Looking For
- PharmD from ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy or equivalent clinical experience.
- Montana State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license active.
- Accurate data entry, analytical and advanced math skills; proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn new software.
- RQI Provider (BLS) within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care.
- First Responder; able to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential situations with tact.
