Restaurant Assistant General Manager
Four Seasons Westlake Village is seeking a Restaurant Assistant General Manager to join the leadership team of Coin & Candor, our signature California brasserie.
Working closely with the Restaurant General Manager, the Assistant General Manager plays a key role in leading daily operations, developing the team, creating exceptional guest experiences, and driving strong business results.
As the General Manager's operational partner and second-in-command, this hands-on leader maintains a visible presence on the restaurant floor, builds meaningful relationships with guests and employees, and confidently leads the operation in the General Manager's absence.
What you will do
- Lead daily restaurant operations and service execution, ensuring a personalized experience consistent with Four Seasons and Forbes Five-Star standards.
- Maintain a visible presence on the restaurant floor, building relationships with guests, recognizing returning patrons, and leading guest recovery when needed.
- Lead, coach, recognize, and develop employees while fostering a high-performing culture rooted in the Golden Rule.
- Support the General Manager in achieving revenue, profitability, labor, and expense goals through effective scheduling, productivity management, and operational controls.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate business priorities, VIPs, menu updates, and service expectations.
- Partner closely with Culinary, Beverage, Reservations, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations and an exceptional food and beverage experience.
- Monitor guest feedback and business trends, identifying opportunities to continuously improve service, team performance, and profitability.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, scheduling, payroll, and other restaurant administrative responsibilities.
- Champion Four Seasons service culture, policies, and standards while maintaining readiness for Forbes and internal quality evaluations.
- Assume leadership of the restaurant in the General Manager's absence.
What you bring
- Three to five years of progressive Food & Beverage leadership experience, preferably within luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, or similarly service-driven environments.
- Previous restaurant management experience with responsibility for team leadership, guest experience, labor management, and financial performance.
- A college degree in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent luxury hospitality experience will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food and beverage service, scheduling, labor controls, and financial fundamentals.
- A passion for developing people and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to lead in a fast-paced luxury environment.
- Strong food, wine, and beverage knowledge. Sommelier, WSET, or CSW certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of restaurant POS, scheduling, payroll, reservation, and related operating systems.
- Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
- Legal work authorization in the United States.
