About the Role
Senior Engineer with extensive experimental experience to design, implement and characterize Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems. Expertise in Quantum Technologies with a focus on Quantum Communications, including precision electronic and optical instrumentation, capable of technically managing the participation of companies in consortia and European projects for an R&D strategic defense program. What You'll Do

Design, implement and characterize QKD systems (Prepare and Measure; Discrete and Continuous Variables; Entanglement-based protocols)

Lead hands-on experiments in optical, photonics, and RF electronics labs

Manage international project participation and consortia engagements, with a special focus on Space QKD

Collaborate with European project teams and external partner companies to align on technical contributions What We're Looking For

Senior engineer with extensive experimental experience in QKD and quantum technologies

Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of QKD pillars: Prepare-and-Measure and Entanglement-based protocols

Hands-on lab skills in optical systems, photonics, and RF electronics

Interest and experience in international project management, European projects, with a focus on Space QKD

Availability for hybrid work in Alcobendas Nice to Have
