The Respiratory Therapist Intern at University of Michigan provides neonatal, pediatric, and adult respiratory care under supervision, completing training and demonstrating proficiency in respiratory care techniques. The role includes ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP support, order documentation, and participation in rounds with the care team to coordinate patient care. What You'll Do
- Initiate and perform all phases of neonatal, pediatric, and adult respiratory care.
- Complete training/competencies and demonstrate proficiency in basic and advanced respiratory care techniques, including emergency response procedures, medical gas and aerosol administration, airway management and bronchial hygiene, mechanical ventilation, patient assessment, monitoring and testing, patient transport, infection control, and education for patients, families, visitors or staff.
