About the Role Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL for a full-time night shift. The role involves delivering respiratory care, teaching and guiding therapies, and collaborating with the care team to support patients across the age spectrum. The position reports to the Manager of Respiratory Care and emphasizes patient education and care optimization. What You'll Do
- Deliver and supervise all forms of respiratory therapy including medical gases, medication delivery via airways, chest physical therapy, pressure breathing treatments, breathing retraining, aerosol and humidity therapy.
- Assess and treat patients from neonatal to geriatric; involve family/guardian in plan of care and provide education as appropriate.
- Perform arterial punctures for blood gas samples, blood gas analysis and related calculations; perform blood gas lab quality control.
- Conduct pulmonary function testing including spirometry, lung volumes, DLCO; perform related calculations and quality control.
- Explain purposes and procedures of treatments and tests to patients, families and hospital staff; develop and deliver home care instructions.
- Maintain comprehensive records in patient charts and respiratory care records; participate in continuing education and collaboration with nurses and physicians.
- Provide guidance to Respiratory Therapy Techs; maintain and repair equipment; support department operations and adhere to hospital standards. What We're Looking For
- Education: AMA-approved respiratory therapy program; eligibility to take NBRC exams or Registered/Certified by NBRC; current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure.
- Certification: Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience/Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis and interpretation, and cardiopulmonary physiology; strong communication and patient education skills. Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $33.16 - $49.74 per hour. Sign-On Bonus: $25,000.
- Eligibility for Annual Incentive Plan; premium pay for shift, on-call, and holidays where applicable; incentive pay for select positions; potential annual increases based on performance.
