Job title: Respiratory Therapist - Evenings/NOC
About the Role Provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians according to hospital policy and procedures, with focus on pediatric and neonatal patients, and monitor response to therapy. This role includes documentation, patient and family communication, equipment maintenance, and education of patients and staff.
What You'll Do
- Provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians according to hospital policy and procedures
- Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
- Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone orders
- Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
- Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
- Provide patient and staff education
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
- State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
