Resource Technician

As a Resource Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting wind energy operations across multiple sites and projects. Whether assisting with service work or construction efforts, you’ll bring your skills and adaptability to where they’re needed most. Backed by Vestas training and qualifications, you’ll help ensure that teams are equipped, and projects stay on track—delivering clean, reliable energy to communities everywhere. Your flexibility and commitment are key to powering progress, no matter your background in wind, electrical, mechanical, or field operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain wind turbines with your team.
• Travel across different sites, work with diverse teams and experience variety, including managing travel and cost coding.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure a safe working environment.
• Solve complex problems with good self-management.
• Work on construction and installation projects, supervising the full lifecycle of turbines.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 6 months with a certificate as a Wind Energy Technician, or 1 year of experience in wind turbines, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive approach.
• Safety-conscious and commitment to best practices.
• Ability to work well in a team and appreciate collaborative environments.
• Good physical condition, comfortable working in diverse conditions and at heights.
• Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in French and English.
• High school diploma, valid driver's license and legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship now or in the future.

Physical Requirements:

• The physical requirements described here are those that an employee must meet to perform the essential duties of this role. Reasonable accommodations can be made for team members with limitations.

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

• Hearing ability to use phones, short-range radios, or similar devices.

• Visual acuity including depth perception, field of view, and color differentiation.

• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed, with good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

• Ability to climb stairs and vertical ladders up to 60-100 meters and sometimes supervise work in confined spaces.

• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 50 lb.

• Ability to complete training and obtain certifications in required safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, electrical qualifications, fall protection, height rescue, emergency descent, and confined space.

• Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including practical descent exercises.

• Due to fall protection equipment design, total weight of employee, required PPE, and equipment must not exceed 300 lb. PPE and equipment can weigh up to 40 lb.

• This is a remote, hourly position requiring 100% travel across Canada. With overtime, travel, and supplemental earnings, Resource Technicians have the potential to earn over 100 000 CAD per year.
