Overview
Microsoft is seeking a Resource Strategy & Planning Lead to manage workforce strategy and resource planning across the newly formed MCAPS-Core organization. The role focuses on ensuring the right mix of full-time employees (FTEs) and vendor resources are aligned with business priorities while improving efficiency through AI, automation, and data-driven planning.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce & Resource Planning
- Lead workforce planning for FTEs and vendors.
- Develop resource plans aligned with business objectives and budgets.
- Forecast hiring needs, capacity, attrition, and resource allocation.
- Conduct scenario planning to support executive decisions.
Resource Governance
- Manage governance processes for workforce investments.
- Partner with Finance, HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders.
- Monitor resource utilization and identify risks or gaps.
- Improve planning processes and operational efficiency.
Strategic Advisory
- Advise senior leadership on workforce strategy and organizational design.
- Analyze business trends to recommend resource investments.
- Support organizational integration within MCAPS-Core.
AI & Workforce Transformation
- Promote AI-first ways of working.
- Identify automation and digital labor opportunities.
- Help redesign workforce models for greater productivity.
- Improve planning through predictive analytics and AI tools.
Executive Reporting
- Turn complex workforce data into executive-level insights.
- Present recommendations through clear storytelling and data visualization.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Business, Management, Computer Science, Liberal Arts, or related field).

Compensation (U.S.)
- Typical base salary: $116,900–$203,600
- San Francisco Bay Area / NYC: $148,400–$222,600
- Additional bonuses, stock, and benefits may apply.
