Job title: Residential Appraiser 1
About the Role
The Residential Appraiser 1 conducts field inspections and residential property appraisals for tax purposes, traveling to multiple properties, collecting data, and analyzing market transactions to determine property values using cost, income, and market approaches. This role uses the client’s CAMA system to record data and verifies sales information for accuracy.
What You'll Do

Travel to multiple property locations for field inspections and data collection; inspect physical characteristics and measure buildings; capture digital images.

Confirm property locations using field documents, aerial imagery, and GIS maps; enter updates to the CAMA system.

Verify sales data accuracy; analyze market data focusing on sales transactions to support valuation using Cost, Income, and Sales Comparison Approaches (primarily cost and market).

Complete final review and valuation of unique residential properties; communicate with the public; represent the company professionally; train and lead residential staff when required.

Adhere to safety, equal opportunity, business ethics, and anti-harassment policies; maintain productivity targets and respond to field discrepancies; work outdoors in various weather conditions and in an office setting as needed.

What We're Looking For

High School graduate; 2 years of relevant work experience; real estate and/or appraisal experience preferred.

Must read maps, establish exact property locations, and visualize floor plan footprints; strong math and problem-solving skills.

Good written and oral communication; ability to work independently or with a team; attention to detail.

Reliable transportation with personal liability insurance and a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); GIS-based software; NCSS, SPSS preferred.

Satisfactory performance as Residential Data Collector is preferred but not required.
