Job title: Residential Adjunct Faculty - School of Engineering

About the Role Liberty University is seeking residential adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate engineering courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, and Industrial & Systems disciplines. The role involves teaching from approved curricula, guiding students to achieve learning outcomes, and modeling a biblically-informed Christian worldview aligned with LU's mission to Train Champions for Christ.

What You'll Do

  • Teach from the approved curriculum in accordance with an assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
  • Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes; provide regular and timely feedback to students.
  • Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive conduct with students and by getting in touch with and offering assistance to absent students.
  • Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
  • Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
  • Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
  • Other duties assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Education and Experience: earned a graduate degree or doctorate in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Industrial & Systems). For baccalaureate or Master’s level, a Master’s degree in the related discipline with relevant experience; Doctorate for Doctoral level; certifications are a definite plus.
  • 3–5 years of teaching experience either in a classroom or online or a combination of both; minimum of 3–5 years of applied experience in a related field.
  • Abilities and Competencies: effective verbal and written communication; proficient English; strong public speaking, organizational, computer, and scheduling skills; and problem-solving ability.
  • May be required to travel; may be required to sit, stand, walk, and lift light objects as needed on campus.

Nice to Have

  • Relevant certifications are a definite plus.
