About the Role The Resident Advisor provides on-site supervision and engagement for youth at Valley Youth House in Lancaster County, with evening and overnight shifts to support life skills and program goals.
What You'll Do
- Provide quality supervision to assigned clients during evenings, overnights, weekends, and on-site shifts, including planning activities and supporting client life skills.
- Engage clients in implementing their individual plans using positive youth development, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate frameworks.
- Oversee site maintenance and cleanliness in compliance with program, county, state, and federal regulations and private grant requirements; ensure timely submission of follow-up paperwork.
- Address and report crises or critical incidents as defined by agency and regulatory guidelines; complete preliminary safety plans.
- Attend external and internal trainings; complete required training hours and annual training as required by funders and licensing regulations.
What We're Looking For
- 21 years of age or older with the ability to align with the program's goals/philosophies.
- High school diploma or GED; one year of experience with adolescents preferred; lived experience considered.
- Sound judgment and knowledge of adolescent development and behavior.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver's license with vehicle insurance and inspection; must pass annual motor vehicle clearance to operate agency vehicles.
- Ability to navigate stairs; computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows, Google Suite) preferred.
- No disqualifying criminal or child abuse offenses.
Nice to Have
- Lived experience with independent living or similar programs.
- Ability to work with diverse groups and remain flexible in approaches.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate: $18.00 - $21.75 per hour (awake); $12.00 per hour for overnight/sleep hours.
