About the Role
Villanova University is seeking experienced high school teachers to join a summer research team in Educational Development and Assessment. The role focuses on refining and completing subject-specific content for an immersive online program that teaches integrated geography, mathematics, and geology through geoscience contexts, and contributes to developing a Virtual Field Trip (VFT).
What You'll Do
- Refine and complete subject-specific content for an immersive online educational program in geosciences, integrating geography, mathematics, geology, and related STEM concepts.
- Contribute to the creation of a Virtual Field Trip (VFT) hosted on the American Geosciences Institute's digital platform, to broaden geoscience exposure for high school and early college students.
- Assist in developing and implementing assessment tools, including validated instruments, to gauge the VFT's impact on student engagement, learning gains, and attitudes.
- Collaborate with the research team to support broader impacts such as engaging undergraduate students, involving schools and museums, and disseminating outcomes widely.
- This is a temporary, summer assignment with up to 10-12 hours per week.
