About the Role
This is a part-time, non-benefited Research Technician I position in the Chemistry & Biochemistry department under the Principal Investigator's direction. The role supports ongoing research and daily lab operation, focusing on cell culture, data integrity, safety, and mentoring students.
What You'll Do
- Technical Research Support (80%): Maintain mammalian cell and tissue cultures; grow cells; ensure safe handling, maintenance, and disposal per biosafety protocols; amplify and purify expression plasmids using bacterial systems; maintain detailed records.
- Laboratory Operations & Compliance (10%): Coordinate specimen handling, labeling, storage, tracking; maintain lab records and biological inventory; coordinate disposal of chemical and glass waste per EHS standards.
