Location: Colorado Springs, CO (On-site)

Role Overview

An established organization is seeking an early-career IT professional to serve as the dedicated, onsite technology resource for a Colorado Springs office. This individual will manage local help desk operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide high-quality end-user support for researchers, engineers, and administrative staff. This position offers an opportunity to operate independently while collaborating with broader specialized technical teams to support advanced technological environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve incoming help desk tickets and handle walk-up support requests from creation to resolution.

• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripherals, including desktops, laptops, printers, and wireless networks.

• Assist with workstation deployments, vulnerability remediation efforts, and the preparation of conference room technology.

• Provide remote support to other organizational sites and collaborate with specialized technology teams on complex infrastructure needs.

• Document technical configurations, support workflows, and escalation processes to maintain consistent operations.

• Coordinate with end-users to ensure minimal disruption to research operations and administrative workflows.

• Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

• Experience: Approximately one to two years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or help desk operations, with a solid understanding of ticketing systems and escalation pathways.

Skills

• Proficiency in Windows administration and troubleshooting, desktop and laptop hardware support, basic Microsoft Office application support, and peripheral troubleshooting.

• Professional

Skills

• Strong communication and customer service skills, the ability to work independently without constant supervision, and comfort interacting with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Additional Requirement: United States citizenship is required.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Linux or Mac operating systems.

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, or PHP.

• Basic software programming capabilities in C, C++, C#, Java, or other modern languages.

• Familiarity with network appliances and hardware, including routers, network switches, firewalls, and storage systems.

• Prior experience supporting engineering, research and development, aerospace, or defense environments.
