Research Engineer

Cato Networks is seeking an experienced Research Engineer to join the Security team in Prague, Czech Republic. You will work as part of the Threats team to analyze emerging security threats, reproduce them in a lab environment, and develop prevention logic based on Cato’s proprietary security engines. Your work will contribute to Cato Cloud security products and help protect thousands of enterprises worldwide. You will research and analyze exploits and post-exploitation techniques used by attackers, perform meticulous data analysis using Cato’s big data warehouse, and contribute to long-term projects within the team, including automation, internal tools, and new product features.

Responsibilities:

• Research and analyze new threats and develop product content such as IPS signatures and logic to provide the best protection for Cato’s customers.
• Enhance product accuracy and its ability to detect new threats in the dynamically changing security landscape.
• Monitor and analyze your work to maintain a zero false positive rate.
• Utilize the Cato Data Warehouse and big data technologies to support your work.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the cybersecurity industry.
• Excellent knowledge of networking architecture and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, HTTP, SMB, etc.).
• Understanding of the cyber-security landscape and common attack scenarios such as exploitation, malware C2, post-exploitation, phishing, network scans, and related areas.
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with experience in threat research and detection logic development.
