Overview

The Research Data Specialist (RDS) will support the Breast Oncology Cohort Studies clinical research program under the auspices of the Principal Investigator(s) and Associate Director of Translational Research, in the areas of identification, and collation of biospecimens associated with our departmental clinical data for studies. Duties may include but are not limited to: the examination, synthesis, and evaluation of medical records; the abstraction and recording of pertinent medical information; retrieves archival tissue samples at outside institutions when relevant for translational studies; coordinates the collection, processing, organization, and storage of biological specimens (including but not limited to blood, tissue, stool); and the organization and collation of biospecimens collected within Breast oncology cohort studies.

This position’s work location is onsite, full-time on campus in Boston, MA in the Longwood Medical Area. Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Identify and collate biospecimens associated with departmental clinical data for translational studies
• Examine, synthesize, and evaluate medical records and abstract pertinent medical information
• Retrieve archival tissue samples at outside institutions when relevant for translational studies
• Coordinate collection, processing, organization, and storage of biological specimens (including but not limited to blood, tissue, stool)
• Organize and collate biospecimens collected within Breast oncology cohort studies

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical research data management or related field preferred

• Knowledge of biospecimen handling and medical record abstraction

• Ability to work onsite in Boston, MA
